Gratuitous sex, unfathomable torture scenes and copious amounts of nudity are a recipe for an NC-17 rating and a nightmare for any horror film creator. Perhaps this is why Eli Roth — the mind responsible for the very bloody and very violent Hostel films — believes that there should be no rating system with the horror genre. In an interview with MTV, Roth said, “I’d love to see us get to a point where you can go to theaters and see movies unrated and that people know its not real violence. It’s all pretend. It’s all fake.”
