After his latest dramatic effort failed to hit the mark (hey, at least it made more than $23 million, right?), Jim Carrey is looking to dip back into what he does best — comedy. 20th Century Fox has picked up the spec script Me Time — written by Ian Roberts and Jay Martel — as a starring vehicle for Carrey. While the actor has jumped between genres as of late, it appears he’s no longer interested in playing wacky Ace Ventura-ish characters. With the exception of Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events, Carrey has involved himself with one relationship comedy after another — and Me Time will continue to follow that trend. However, that’s not to say he doesn’t add that classic Carrey quirkiness to each role.
